Post Family Farms, We love you.

Saturday morning at Post Family Farm in the Fall (that's alot of "F's") is hard to beat. This year we had great weather- chilly at first but sunny & warm as we ended- and had great friends along to boot (however I didn't get a group picture at all, oops). The highlight is always the hot and crispy sugary donuts that I would dare say are the best in West Michigan. But here are a few more from the day: Syd's favorite: face painting
Raegan's favorite: The zipline. She did this, no lie, probably 25 times.

The tractor-pulled barrel ride never gets old.

And the hay-ride to the pumpkin patch to pick our own pumpkins is pretty great too.
Mollsie's first pumpkin. :)

Pumpkin-cart cutie.
And...the family photo. At least we were all facing the camera for this one.

Mollsie-11.5 months

The many faces of Mollsie, Miss Molly, "Oh Molly!", Sweet MV.... Still only 2 chiclets; but they are razor sharp
Sweet messy-faced girl. She loves her food and is by FAR the messiest of my eaters. She loves to take bits of her food-when she's done eating- and either drop them one by one onto the floor or squirrel them away into the little cup holder on her tray.

Profile pics are just the best, aren't they?? So are ponytails on an 11 month old. ;)

Time has gotten away from me this past month. Going back on my pictures I realize I haven't taken enough of ANY of my kids but especially Mollsie who is growing and changing by leaps and bounds and I just can't seem to bottle it up fast enough.
Speaking of bottles, I just started giving her "big girl" milk in a sippee or bottle. In a few weeks we will be going out of town and my breastmilk supply is gone. The reality of the end of nursing is in sight and causes a tiny pang of sadness in my heart everytime I think of it finally being done. But thankfully this girl loves the big girl milk and also a bottle or sippee so the transition will be less painful for her then for me.
She is very near to walking (or so it seems) and I will often catch her standing next to the couch not holding onto it with a toy in her hands. She seems too little and short to be walking soon!
Favorite words are "Dada", "Mama", "Nigh-Night", "Ba-ba" (for babies or any type of 'lovey' or stuffed animal), and "Na-na!" i.e. "No" and my personal favorite; "Uh Oh!".
She also waves "bye" and shakes her head for "No". So smart this one! :)
She is still sleeping great. Happy as a lark. Smiles all the time and hams it up for anyone that will pay attention. She is a great kid.

First field trip

Syd's first field trip at three-school was to the apple orchard. I felt it was important to be there as I'm sure she'll remember someday and might have been traumatized had I decided to stay home and skip it. Found a sitter for the other two kids as it was on an "off" school day, and I wanted this to be a special time for just the two of us. Well, needless to say, it would probably have been better for both of us had I stayed home because she pretty much cried through the whole experience and wanted me to carry her through the orchard.
Although to be honest, who thinks that a 3 year old will have the attention span to tromp through an entire apple, pear, and cherry orchard and stay interested long enough to hear all about the different tree leaves and apple species that one small orchard can offer? Even I was zoning out after awhile and I'm 29 for pete's sake! ;)

Next time, dear teacher, I would suggest skipping the tour and just setting up a bean bag toss in the school parking lot. This was a big hit. Much better then the orchard walk.

Syd and all of her boy classmates. :)

Oh and the "free" apple and plastic cider container at the end was also worth all the rest.

Since Mollsie is nearing her 1st birthday and I'm totally in denial I am SO thrilled that my sis and BIL had their twinners this week. After almost 2 days of labor my dear sister was able to deliver 'naturally' on Tuesday October 5th and both babies are healthy and cute as a set of bug's ears.
